As Senior Director of Programs for the Zoological Society of Milwaukee (ZSM), Julia is responsible for leadership of and oversight to the ZSM Conservation Education Department and Zoo Pride, the organization’s 500-member volunteer program, as well as support to the Conservation Department.
Julia holds dual Bachelor's Degrees in Education and Psychology from the University of Michigan, and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Washington Evans School of Public Policy.
Moving from state to state due to her spouse’s Air Force career, she’s lived in Colorado, Florida, Oklahoma, Washington, Alaska and Hungary. Throughout that time, she worked in elementary education, local government, non-profit, and federal government sectors before her most recent role as the head of the Organizational Planning Division within Milwaukee Public Schools. She specializes in strategic planning, organizational development, program and project management, economic development and urban policy.
In her free time, Julia enjoys spending time with her three children and husband traveling far and wide, hiking to high vistas, reading good fiction, and exploring Milwaukee.
