    Angela Mancuso, Executive Director - The Women's Center

    Join us as we have an intimate conversation with Angela Mancuso, the Executive Director of The Women's Center in Waukesha.  The Coffee with the CEO event series was introduced to provide young and emerging leaders with an opportunity to learn from the experiences of seasoned non-profit professionals.

    Angela Mancuso has over a decade of professional experience as a leader in the domestic violence environment. She started at Sojourner Truth House in 2001, the largest domestic violence shelter in Milwaukee as Director of Development & Public Relations, was promoted to Associate Director in 2006 assuming responsibility and management of victim services and batterers’ intervention programming. In 2008 Angela became the Executive Director, succeeding long-time director, Kathie Stolpman. In 2009, Sojourner Truth House merged with The Task Force on Family Violence to create Sojourner Family Peace Center where Angela served as Co-Executive Director for five years.

    In November 2013, Angela became the Executive Director of The Women’s Center. Founded in 1977, The Women’s Center provides a wide range of free and comprehensive services for adult and child surivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and trafficking throughout the Greater Milwaukee area and surrounding communities. These services include an emergency crisis shelter, 24 hour Hotline, 10 transitional living apartments, group and individual counseling, onsite respite childcare, legal advocacy, life skills and employment training and support, violence prevention, child advocacy and support for non-offending parents, and rape crisis response. The Women’s Center is the only agency of its kind in Waukesha County.

    She currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Housing Action Coalition, Waukesha County’s homeless Continuum of Care, is a Co-Chair of the Campaign Cabinet for United Way of Milwaukee and Waukesha County Nonprofit Division, and on the Thriving Waukesha Advisory Board. In 2017, she was appointed to the Governor’s Council on Offender Re-Entry by Governor Scott Walker. Angela is a past Commissioner and co-chair of the City of Milwaukee’s Commission on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.

    Angela was given a Mayoral Proclamation on September 12th, 2012 as “Angela Mancuso Day” for outstanding service to victims of domestic violence and was also awarded “Women of Influence” in 2012 from the Milwaukee Business Journal. She was named a “Milwaukee All-Star” in 2015 by onmilwaukee.com.

    Angela holds a Business Administration degree from Mount Mary University.
